Housed in the Palace “Reial Major” which acted as the royal
residence from the 10th to the 15th Century which presents many
interesting historical features. There is an exhibition dating from
Roman times with historical information about the City of Barcelona.
The entrance ticket also entitles the holder to a subterranean walk
along Roman and Visigoth streets now covered by modern construction.

Reputed to be the world’s greatest collection of medieval art.
Particularly notable is the section covering Romanesque art from the
9th Century. There is also a very good representation of works from
medieval times (1250-1500). A collection of works from the
renaissance and Baroque periods was presented to the Museum by Cambó
which includes Goya, Zurbarán and Rembrandt.
