Banking hours – Weekdays normally from 08.00 to 14.00 hrs – there
are exceptions.

Transport
Bicycles
The city is very bicycle aware and has provided over 73 kms of Bike
Lanes for cyclists. Hiring of bicycles can he obtained at several
specialized shops and maps detailing the Lanes can be obtained from
the Tourist Office.
Buses
The city Bus system is comprehensive and the bus stops are clearly
marked with the destination indicated on each bus. There are some 15
special Night Bus Routes for party goers most of which pass through
Plaça de Catalunya. Bus routes and details can be obtained by

FGC (Railway)
This is local railway system for out of town commuter belt serving
northern and eastern Barcelona region. A number of the stations
coincide with that of the Metro and it maintains the same hours of

Metro
The city has an efficient Metro system which is inexpensive, fast
and easy to use. At every Metro station there are machines
dispensing tickets for the journey. It operates from 00.50 to 24.00
hrs from Monday through to Thursday. From 05.00 to 02.00 hrs on
Fridays and Saturdays, and from 06.00 to 24.00 hrs on Sunday. For

Taxis
The taxis are painted yellow and black and can be hailed on any
street. They have a green light lit on the roof of their taxi to
indicate when they are available for hire. Although there charges
are inexpensive there is a minimum charge applied. The central

Disabled Transport
Barcelona has very thoughtfully compiled a computer database of all
the streets in their city which are disabled friendly from a
wheelchair point of view. This information is available by
